why i'm creepy

I have a confession to make. I think about the first dance at my wedding and what song I would dance to with my potential hubs A LOT. But the thing is, I don't even know if I want to get married and also I don't have a man. Is this tight? The thing is, perhaps it's just natural to daydream. And there's nothing wrong with that. Aretha has a whole song about it. So if I do have the big marriage party, and I do have a first dance, there a couple of songs that are in serious contention. I want to share this you, my babies, because it makes me feel hopeful. Also, I will let anyone on this blog steal these because there a few couples on there that would do right by these songs. I'll just stand in the back and weep until snot stains my dress. Oh wait, that's not any different than me at ANY wedding. I'm sorry for this horrible post.

Toussaint McCall - Nothing Takes the Place of You

Toussaint is a really awesome artist, but there is hardly anything on the interweb about him. He's cute as a button. Oh, well. At least we have YouTube. You can load this video and let it play while you surf and then it's like listening to an MP3. I'm the very first person to ever think of that. Basically I love soul music, which shouldn't be a shocker to anyone. And a soul song would be a great first dance.

This is from Bob Dylan's radio show, so I think you get a little BD talking on this clip. The thing is, I love this song and it would be totally awesome to bust out at a wedding when everyone is standing around awkwardly watching you dance. I want to learn some dramatic lifts and dips for this. Also I want a full orchestra to play it and Ricky Ricardo to sing it.

Darondo - Sure Know How to Love Me

This song would surprise and delight the wedding guests. I love Darondo so much! He is a huge baller. Just look at that photo! I want his belt. I also would want to pull everyone in a giant dance circle for this. That's pretty much all I can say about that. Awesome.

I pretty much love anything from The Flamingos. How smooth are these guys? I feel like people of all ages can appreciate this music, especially at a wedding. My grandparents would be into the softness of it and my friends would still be able to sway to it. If not, F EM it's my day. Anyway, I have some kind of "Best of The Flamingos" that I got on Amazon because it sounded interesting and it's so tasty. I like to listen to it in the winter. It's a winter album for me.

So, as you can see, I obviously have way too much time on my hands. But hey, it's my teacher summer, so SUE ME! Anyway, these songs should all tug at your heartstrings. Plus they would truly make any wedding complete. So there.
