Filed Under: How Have We Not Posted About This Yet?

I hope this is news for some of you, but for others it will be a refresher. In 1991, Vanilla Ice starred in a movie titled Cool as Ice. According to Wikipedia:

Cool as Ice is a 1991 film loosely based on Rebel Without a Cause, and often referred to as the Vanilla Ice Movie. When first released, Cool as Ice was universally panned by critics. However, over time it has become something of a cult classic. Cinematography by Janusz Kaminski, who later became the much-lauded regular cinematographer on Steven Spielberg's movies from Schindler's List onwards.[1]

These are very stunning facts. So of course I've found a few choice clips. The first features such amazing dialogue as "Yup yup," but really is worth watching at about the 30 second mark when it immediately turns into a montage with C + C Music Factory style music.

No one should watch the next clip unless they want to throw up. Or unless they are Gav because he'll appreciate this R&B track with the 360° camera around the motorcycle.

Good job a-hole, you almost killed the only girl in that town who will give you any action:

But this one is the crowning glory. I don't know how this scene was overlooked at the 1991 Academy Awards.

Bonus info: The role of Vanilla Ice's motorcycle slut was originally offered to Gwyneth Paltrow but her dad forbade it, due to the script's sexual content. Guess he didn't mind when she showed her jugs during
Shakespeare In Love.

The costume budget on this movie had to be two dimes and a Shasta.
