I'm not sure if you guys have heard of this, but throat singing is an ancient tradition in which singers are able to vocalize 2 to 4 notes simultaneously.
Check out this guy doing a little sample of Mongolian throat singing.
Inuit throat singing is a different form, done by women to put their babies to sleep. I wonder if this would make me sleepy. I think if my mom started doing this, I'd think she needs an inhaler. Most of the time, two women are involved in a competitive way, seeing who will become exhausted first.
I think Common + posthumous J Dilla could remix those ladies and make a good back beat.
Here's Kongar-ol Ondar performing the Tuvan form of throat singing on Dave Letterman's show. He's the jolliest bastard I've ever seen. I want to party with this guy, but I have a feeling he could drink me under the table.

I've seen Yat-Kha, the Tuvan band, and they are AMAZING. I wish I was that talented... instead I'm just mean. :)
my gratitude and many thanks go to you for posting these cultural masterpieces.
