Kelley Polar - Chrysanthemum

Kelley Polar has a bit of a different pedigree than most electronic musicians. Hell the guy currently is an instructor at Apple Hill Center For Chamber Music in Nelson, New Hampshire. With an upbringing in classical music, a stint at Oberlin Conservatory and Juliard School (where he was kicked out for 'outlandish incorporation of player pianos and Bedouin singers'), Polar's ability to play the piano, violin and viola drove his obsession to re-create orchestral driven 70s-80's disco. While in NYC Polar spent time with artist/producer Morgan Geist recording several 12"s while learning more about the electronic genre of music. Geist would produce Polar's acclaimed first album, Love Songs Of The Hanging Gardens, a melancholic space disco sting instrument drenched LP. Polar then moved to rural New Hampshire in order to devote all of his time to creating cheesy disco nostalgia and raising longhair cattle. His most recent release I Need You To Hold On While The Sky Is Falling came out in February.
