Listening to NPR this morning while driving my shitty car instead of taking the bus this news story came on with the background music to Star Wars: A New Hope (that's the og folks): CalEarth Eco Dome communities in California. Kind of like Gaudi but without the elegance, kind of like Buckminster Fuller wannabe dome dwellings but without the mass production aspect and all around crappiness, and kind of like adobe houses of native peoples but without all the right angles.

this is tight. i really wanted to rent a hummer today and loop around downtown austin a couple times, go through drive through's, and stop at places while leaving my AC on full blast so that I don't get sweaty when I re-enter my mammoth vehicle.
we had a big recycling haul today at school in honor of earth day. i would pay quite a bit to live in one of those hut thingies with the isthistight blog crew.
