nick drake - from the morning

So this song has been playing on that AT&T commercial where they drape orange curtain thingies on all the buildings AND THE OCEAN. Every time I hear it, I pretty much drop what I'm doing and lock into it like a newborn. It's such a dog whistle for me. Good thing I already own this album.

Here it is for your listening and downloading pleasure.

blublocker freestyle!

Before I begin, I need to have full disclosure with all of you. I own a pair of Blublockers. They have traveled many places with me, including New York and Arkansas. I am proud to own them and they do offer complete sun coverage. Having said that, let's not forget how dorky they can be.

Please check out this priceless commercial featuring MC Dr. Geek. He's freestylin' about these shades. But he's also wearing a velvet sombrero and a Curly shirt. What a baller. The guy chewing gum behind Dr. Geek is really feeling it. I mean, this guy is really a genius. The way he keeps going when handed the free pair! I love him. Thanks to Tom for this amazing share on my reason for living, Google Reader.

Olive Garden Handsy Time

Olive Garden commercials push me over the edge, but this one really takes the cake. It's supposed to be a sweet little story about a mom and son who go to Olive Garden because dad is working late and can't be home for dinner (aka, dad is probably cheating with another woman who actually cooks real food).

Thing is, this mother and son look way too cozy. I'm pretty sure this delicious meal from the O.G. is just foreplay.

"So uhh, is Donna still in the picture?"

In that last scene in Big when Elizabeth Perkins drops T. Hanks off at his house and he turns back into baby T. Hanks, she knew that there was no Olive Garden in their future. Just let it go, y'all.

This post approved by baby T. Hanks from Big.

Was anyone aware that Penny Marshall directed Big?? I had no clue.

starbursts llama commercial

Another reason to love llamas. Another reason to love Starburst. Another reason to love fake animal legs/hooves. For the record, I feel like a llama chewing a Starburst half the time. But I love those things. Especially the jelly beans. HOLLA!

marvin gaye + national anthem = my dream come true

Question: Does NBC air all the best commercials during the Olympics because they know asses all across the nation are planted on couches waiting for the good stuff?

Answer: Yes. (Hello, I watched gymnastics in Las Vegas! I'm reppin' hard, son!)

Anyway, Chaps has been telling me about this Marvin Gaye commercial for a while. It's really a commercial for Nike and the USA Basketball Team, but it showcases Marv singing the National Anthem at the 1983 NBA All-Star Game. This is probably the best rendition I've ever heard/seen a singer do. I mean, I am a little biased since I loves me some Marvin. I have a little picture of Marvin that I can stare at in the kitchen while I'm at the sink. Off-topic but who cares? Here's the point: this is the most badass thing I have ever seen and I want to thank Nike and NBC for choosing this clip and this man to make my life better. From the sunglasses to the beat in the background to the suit to EVERYTHING. I'm in love.

Just A Quick Question

So really, how badly does that guy from the Beneful commercials need to get laid?

If you talk to your dog about carbohydrate and protein intake, chances are, you need your joint worked on immediately.

Beneful commerical

P.S. That accent is fake/not his.
