1. Dilly Bars
A DQ favorite. I like to chow on these during the summer. Drawback: They melt all over you. But they are a tradish. I love the swirly middle part - kind of like someone actually made it and drizzled the last bit of choc. I know they are straight up manufactured, but let me hold on to what I can.
2. Chocolate Truffles
From anywhere. Whole Foods makes a good one. Although I have yet to venture into "chipotle chicken cream cheese basil pepper" truffle territory. I'm scared.
3. Red Velvet Cake
I know that if you live in the South, you are supposed to like this kind of cake. Well guess what, I live in the South and I DO. It's really just chocolate cake with red food coloring, which I discovered with Paulette Roch when I made it for the first time. I felt initial disappointment, but then I realized it was still damn delicious. Cream cheese icing, please. OH, and a bottle of wine. Sike/not.
4. Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream
I like Bluebell a ton, even though they make their ice cream with plastic and melted crayons, according to my dad. T/F? I mean, who needs the real, all natural stuff? This is my favorite ice cream flavor they make and potentially my fave flavor ever. I do have a soft spot for Choc Chip Cookie Dough because I might as well just smear it straight on my ass and I like that. I dabbled in butter pecan for a while, but mostly because that's all my great aunt Vance Roch Mitchell ever had in one of her four freezers.
5. Peach Cobbler
I really don't care who you are, you should like cobbler. It's basically a super messy diarrhea version of pie. YUMO! But seriously, I love peach cobbler. My mom is allergic to peaches and so she stopped making it a while ago. Which is terribly sad for me and I would love someone to surprise me with a huge piece of cobb with vanilla ice cream half melted on it. No place in Austin really makes a bang-up cobbler that knocks my socks off. Someone find a place for me.
This list has further proven to me how pointless my entries are. I forgot to add Drumsticks, the delicious ice cream with nuts on top and chocolate in the cone. HELLO! I'm too lazy to find an image right now. Just know they are def sold at Bluebonnet Mart. Happy Earth Day. Toodles!
